OMFS Resident Life

Health Insurance

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine offers health insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield at a cost to the student. This insurance costs approximately $3,500.00 per year and is needed for the first two years of the program. The following four years of health insurance is provided by either Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center or Jacobi Medical Center. Plans range from no additional cost to the resident and increases with different plan options. Dental as well as vision insurance is also provided at no cost to the resident.

Vacation

Residents will have four weeks of vacation each year (20 days).

Educational Expenses

Each resident will receive $1500.00 in academic funding to be used at any time during the residency for attendance at scientific conferences or for educational materials.

Annual Salary / Tuition

Those enrolled in the program will be responsible for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine tuition for years 1, 2 and 3. Salaries will be paid at appropriate PGY levels for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 of the program. Please contact us for up-to-date information regarding salaries and tuition.

Housing

Housing opportunities are available to residents during their medical education as well as during their residency. Housing for the first three years is available from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx. PGY 2 - 4 housing is available from Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical in Manhattan. Prices for housing range with accommodation type.

Transportation

Shuttle bus service between Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx is provided by Jacobi. Albert Einstein College of Medicine provides shuttle bus service between AECOM sites. Hospital sites are also accessible via public transportation.
