GPR Faculty
Victor Badner, DMD, MPH
Chair, Department of Dentistry & OMFS
Dr. Badner is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (BA), the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (DMD), and the University of California Los Angeles (MPH). He is a Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Public Health and Professor in the Department of Dentistry and in the Department of Epidemiology & Population Health at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. His career has focused on providing access to care for underserved populations by integrating education, clinical care and research. He is the dentist representative for the Health + Hospitals system and is the commissioner for CODA representing the specialty of Dental Public Health.
Robert Margolin, DDS
Director, General Practice Residency
Dr Robert Margolin is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and completed his GPR at Jacobi Medical Center. Dr Margolin was in private practice in the Bronx for 18 years. He was on staff at Jacobi for 15 year before becoming program director. Prior to that, Dr Margolin was GPR Director at another hospital in the Bronx for 15 years. Dr. Margolin is past president of the Bronx County Dental Society and past editor and president of the New York State Academy of General Dentistry. He is also held various positions in organized dentistry at the state and national level. Dr Margolin is a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American College of Dentists,the International College of Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Josephine E. Sullivan, DDS
Assistant Director, General Practice Residency
Dr. Sullivan is currently the Assistant Director of the General Practice Program at Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital. She obtained her D.D.S at S.U.N.Y Stony Brook. She completed a 2 year general practice residency at Montefiore Medical at Jacobi Medical Center. She is a member of the America Dental Association with Bronx County and the 9th District. She has been a general practice attending at Jacobi and North Central Bronx since 2004. Also, she works at a private practice in the Bronx.
Denise How, DMD
Periodontics
Dr How is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Dental Medicine (1991), where she also received her post graduate periodontal training. Dr. How provides lectures and hands on training in all aspects of periodontal therapy and surgery. She maintains a private practice in Manhattan.
Diane Baver Heller, DDS
Endodontics
Dr. Heller is a graduate of Downstate Medical Center College of Nursing. Prior to starting dental school, Dr. Heller worked as an RN at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center on the Head and Neck Unit. She received her DDS at SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and then enrolled at UMDNJ Dental School (now Rutgers) and received her certificate of Endodonitcs. She worked in a private endodontic practice from 1990 until 2017. She has been involved in teaching endodontics to general practice residents since 1990.
Jemima Louis, DMD
General Dentistry
Director of HIV Oral Health Services
Dr. Louis is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where she also completed a Masters in Bioethics. She completed her MBA at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College with a focus in healthcare administration. Following dental school, she completed a GPR at Newark Beth Isreal Medical Center and then was GPR chief at Jacobi Medical Center. Upon graduation from Jacobi, she was asked to stay as an attending. She also maintains a private practice in the Bronx.
Anita Agarwal, BDS, DMD, MPH
General Dentistry
Dr. Agarwal graduated from the University of Pune, India with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery. She received a Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University School of Dental medicine and completed a General Practice Residency at New York Medical College. She completed a fellowship in Dental Oncology/Maxillofacial Prosthetics at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY and received a Master’s in Public Health from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Agarwal provides supervision and clinical education to the Residents. She is appointed to the faculty of Albert Einstein College of Medicine and maintains a private practice in Scarsdale, NY.
Joel Green, DDS
General Dentistry
Dr. Green graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 1983. He completed a general practice residency at the Bronx Veterans Administration Medical Center. He maintains a private practice on Pelham Parkway for over 30 years.
Ji Yoo Lee, DDS
General Dentistry
Dr. JiYoo Lee is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Dentistry and completed her GPR at Jacobi Medical Center, as well as a second year GPR as chief resident at the same hospital. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Lee worked in two different research labs and obtained her master's degree in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Lee is a member of the New York State Dental Association. She has been a general practice attending at Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital since 2021.
Brittany McCrorey, DDS, MPH
General Dentistry
Dr McCrorey is a graduate of Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. She completed her general practice residency at BronxCare Health System (where she was a chief resident), and she served as an attending and associate GPR program director there for years. Currently, Dr. McCrorey is pursuing certification in Dental Public Health (DPH) through the Jacobi DPH Residency Program. She has participated in several leadership programs from esteemed organizations such as the ADA, AAL, and AIDPH, and she currently serves as the Director of Membership and Chapters of the American Association of Women Dentists
Anthony DeBenedictis DDS
Prosthodontics
Dr. DeBenedictis is a graduate of NYU College of Dentistry where he received a DDS degree. He completed his general practice and prosthodontic residencies at Montefiore Medical Center. His private office in Westchester County was established in 1994 where he continues to practice. He presently provides training in implant and other prosthetic restorations at Jacobi Medical Center.
