Dental Public Health Faculty
The Department of Dentistry at Jacobi includes several full-time DPH faculty who are Diplomates of the American Board of Dental Public Health and other part-time faculty with expertise in dental public health and related specialties. Faculty in the DPH program at Jacobi focus on teaching, research, and securing research and/or training grants.

Nadia Laniado DDS, MPH, MS
Director, Dental Public Health Residency Program
Director, Community Dentistry and Population Health
Dr. Laniado is a graduate of Cornell University (BA), the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine (DDS), the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University (MPH), and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (MS). She is a Diplomate in the American Board of Dental Public Health and in the American Board of Orthodontics. She served as President of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry from 2022-2023. Her research interests include social determinants of health and interprofessional education and collaboration.

Megan Cloidt DDS, MPH
Assistant Director, Community Dentistry and Population Health
Dr. Cloidt is a graduate of Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (DDS) and Mailman School of Public Health (MPH). She also completed residencies in Advanced Education of General Dentistry (AEGD) at Columbia/New York-Presbyterian and Dental Public Health (DPH) at Jacobi Medical Center. Dr. Cloidt is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health and has research interests in HPV prevention, teledentistry, adolescent health, interprofessional education, and reducing oral health disparities. She enjoys a multifaceted career that includes research, teaching, program planning, and clinical practice.

Parth Shah DDS, MPH
Senior Research Associate
Dr. Shah is a graduate of New York University College of Dentistry (DDS) and University at Albany (MPH). He completed a residency in Dental Public Health followed by one year of postdoctoral fellowship in community dentistry and population health at Jacobi Medical Center, Bronx, NY. Dr. Shah is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Public Health. He is an active public health researcher. His main research areas of interest include chronic diseases, epidemiological methods, and oral health. Dr. Parth Shah teaches dental public health courses and provides research consultation to the residents at Jacobi Medical Center.

Vanessa Mareno DDS, MPH
Dental Public Health Faculty
Dr. Mareno earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine and her Master of Public Health (MPH) from the City University of New York School of Public Health & Health Policy. She completed a two-year General Practice Residency (GPR), followed by a one-year Dental Public Health residency at Jacobi Medical Center. Dr. Mareno is a fellow in the NYC Health + Hospitals Clinical Leadership Fellowship Program and is pursuing Diplomate status with the American Board of Dental Public Health. Her research focuses on improving oral health among individuals with substance use disorders through medical-dental integration, implementation science, and quality improvement. As a clinician, Dr. Mareno is committed to caring for patients with complex oral health needs in both hospital-based outreach clinics and community settings.
