How to Apply

​

• All applications to the Jacobi Medical Center Dental Anesthesiology Residency Program must be submitted through the ADEA PASS system.

• We participate in the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program.

• PASS Application Deadline: September 15

• Only complete applications submitted through PASS are reviewed by the selection committee.

• We seek applicants who are committed to dental anesthesiology training and demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and the ability to function in a high-acuity clinical environment.

Application Requirements

 

Applicants must:

• Graduate from a CODA-accredited dental school (U.S. or Canada)

• Successfully complete the INBDE (before matriculation into the residency program)

• Submit CBSE scores as part of the residency application

 

The following materials must be included in the PASS application:

• Official dental school transcript

• Curriculum vitae (with 2” x 2” photo embedded in the upper right or upper left corner of the CV. The CV and photograph must be uploaded as a single PDF document.)

• CBSE Scores

• Personal statement

• Letters of evaluation

 

Documents already submitted through PASS should not be sent separately to the program.

Additional Submission Instructions

​

If a specific document upload field is not available within PASS:

• The photograph should be incorporated into the applicant’s curriculum vitae and uploaded as a single PDF.

• CBSE scores must be submitted in one of the following ways:

  • Uploaded by the applicant as part of the PASS application (for example, included within the CV as a PDF).

 

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that all required materials are accessible to the selection committee at the time of application review.

Incomplete or late applications cannot be reviewed.

Letters of Evaluation

​

Strong letters of evaluation are an essential component of a competitive application. We strongly recommend letters from individuals who have worked with you in a meaningful and sustained capacity and can comment on:

• Clinical performance

• Work ethic

• Professionalism

• Ability to accept feedback

• Readiness for advanced training

 

Letters from brief shadowing experiences are generally not helpful in the evaluation process.

Application Review & Interviews

 

• Applications are reviewed by the selection committee after the PASS deadline.

• Interviews are conducted by invitation only.

• Due to the volume of applications, we are unable to provide individualized advising regarding application strategy or competitiveness.

Externship Experience

 

Completion of an externship at our institution is strongly encouraged for applicants seeking a comprehensive understanding of:

• The clinical training environment

• The structure and expectations of the program

• Resident and faculty interaction

After the Match

​

Matched applicants will be contacted with instructions for submission of any required institutional documentation.
