Application Procedure

In order to be considered for the Dental Anesthesiology residency program, candidates must be graduates of an American or Canadian dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation(CODA) of the ADA.

Salaries and Benefits:

The residents are members of a resident union, Committee of Interns and Residents and their salaries and benefits are comparable to all the other residents at the North Bronx Healthcare Network (NHBN) who are at the same training level as those in Dental Anesthesia. The residents are fully funded at the applicable PGY level. Current salary as of 7/1/16 for a postgraduate year one resident is approximately $60,000.
Malpractice insurance and medical insurance are provided. Residents receive additional funding through CIR to reimburse expenses including but not limited to purchasing approved textbooks and electronic devices, attending conferences, and board examination fees.Please refer to the CIR website for a comprehensive list of benefits at
Residents are allotted 20 days of vacation and 3 days of continuing education per year.

We participate in the Postdoctoral Dental Matching Program through National Matching Services. Please refer to the Match website for all current information including instructions for participating in the match and current deadlines.

All applications and supporting documents must be received by September 15 for consideration for appointment on the following July 1. The Selection Committee will consider no application unless all credentials have been received. Interviews will be conducted by invitation of the Selection Committee and will be held usually in October of that year, at a date to be determined.
